Information about COVID-19

We have been receiving lots of questions over the past few days about how the COVID-19 Pandemic is effecting Daily Dish’s service and delivery.

It is our number one priority to provide a safe and reliable dinner kit delivery service to our customers during this time. We know that many people consider getting their food delivered to their home is a safer alternative to going shopping in public at a supermarket, and we are committed to meeting these expectations.

Suppliers


We always use reputable suppliers for our ingredients - quality suppliers who follow hygienic practices and have food safety certifications. We are working closely with our suppliers to make sure they are also following strict hygienic practices. Although we may have to make a few ingredient substitutions and menu changes, we are confident that we can meet the demand over the next few weeks.

Hygiene and cleaning


Hygiene is always a priority for us. We have implemented strict hygienic practices to prevent the possible spread of COVID-19, including:

  • Full hand-sanitising before entering the Daily Dish premises in Cape Town and Johannesburg

  • All production staff to clean hands for 20 seconds every 20 minutes

  • Strict regulations when it comes to clean surfaces, equipment and production control

  • Employees are encouraged to stay home if they feel unwell at all


These strict hygiene practices to prevent any contamination was implemented before, and now they have increased even more in frequency.

Delivery changes


If you are working from home and usually have your Daily Dish dinner kit delivered to your office address, please remember to update your delivery details to your home address before Wednesday 11 am. You can do this on your account under subscription settings, or you’re welcome to call or Whatsapp us.

We have now introduced a non-contact delivery process with our courier company. The courier will keep a distance of at least 1m from the customer when delivering boxes.

No returns


For the time being our courier will not be accepting returned boxes or ice packs. Please reuse them or dispose of them responsibly for now. Boxes are easily recyclable, and ice packs can be kept in the freezer, or the gel can even be mixed into your potting soil or garden to retain moisture.

We hope we can be of assistance to you and your family during this time by providing a reliable and safe way to receive all you need to make healthy weeknight dinners. Delivery is still free and will take place on Mondays.
