Flavoured butter is a delicious and easy way to add an extra burst of flavour and decadence to your dishes. Flavoured butter is simple to make, needing just a handful of ingredients, and it’s great to have on hand to liven up any meal or impress your dinner guests.

What to use flavoured butter for


The possibilities are endless - basically anywhere you would use butter, use flavoured butter instead for extra flavour and all-round deliciousness!

Here are our favourite ways to use flavoured butter:

  • Drizzled over roasted veggies

  • Spread on a slice of fresh, crusty bread

  • Add a dollop to baked potatoes

  • Melted on top of a seared steak

  • Served with grilled fish

How to make flavoured butter


Flavoured butter literally takes minutes to make. The basic recipe is the same for most flavoured butters. You’ll need room temperature butter that’s soft enough to stir. Then stir in the other ingredients, such as fresh herbs, spices, cheese, or even nuts, and mix thoroughly so the ingredients are evenly distributed. Alternatively, you can also melt the butter and mix in the ingredients and allow it to set.

Butter freezes well, so it’s useful to make a big batch and freeze a few portions. Roll the mixture into a cylinder/log shape using baking paper and refrigerate or freeze until use. It can then easily be sliced when ready to use.
