K eep these staples in your pantry so you can whip up a delicious meal in 15 minutes anytime. You never know when guests will drop in around meal time.

These are all ingredients that have a long shelf life, so make sure to include them on your next grocery shopping trip. We're breaking our own rules as none of the ingredients are fresh. But, hey, sometimes you just have to make a plan. Super delicious though! And there are a few different options too!

Pantry Pasta Recipe

Ingredients for 4 servings
500g linguine (or spaghetti or fusilli)
1 onion – peel and chop
1 tbsp minced bottled garlic
½ teaspoon chilli flakes
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tin chopped tomatoes
2 x 170g tins tuna (or shrimp or clams) – open and drain
2 tbsp dried herbs (oregano, basil, parsley)
Olive oil


Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and keep warm.

Whilst the pasta is cooking, add a few glugs of olive oil to a large saucepan over high heat. Add onion, garlic and chilli flakes and sauté for about 4 minutes, until the onion is translucent. Now add the tomato paste and chopped tomatoes. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in the tuna (clams or shrimp) and dried herbs and stir until heated through – about 2 more minutes. Lastly add the pasta and combine well. Serve immediately.
