Solo: Super Beef Burgers

Healthy, pure steak mince burgers on a bun with salad, pickles, tomato. Topped with bacon and mature cheddar.




Ingredients to serve 1

  • 40g x Homestyle bacon
  • 150g x steak mince
  • ¼ x onion – chop finely
  • 3g x fresh parsley – chop
  • ½ x egg (from your pantry)
  • 15g x mature cheddar – grate coarsely
  • 20g x salad leaves
  • ½ x tomato – slice
  • 15g x dill pickles – slice
  • ¼ x red onion – slice finely
  • 1 x burger bun
  • . x butter (from your pantry)
  • . x salt & pepper (from your pantry)

Method

Step 1

Prepare all ingredients as indicated above.

Step 2

Place a frying pan on medium to high heat and fry the bacon until crispy – about 5 minutes. Transfer to a plate and set aside.

Step 3

In a bowl, mix the following ingredients together (you can use your hands): steak mince, chopped onion (white onion), parsley and egg. Season well with salt and pepper. Shape the mince into a patty.

Step 4

Return the frying pan you cooked the bacon in to the stove (medium to high heat). Add a knob of butter and when hot, add the patty. They should sizzle when they hit the pan (if the pan is hot enough). Cook the patty for about 4 to 6 minutes per side. Make sure they are nicely browned and cooked through.

Step 5

Cut the burger bun in half and toast lightly.

Step 6

To assemble the burger, place half a bun on the plate. Add layers of salad leaves, tomato, dill pickles and red onion slices on top. Then add the burger patty, grated cheese and a slice of bacon. Top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately.
