Bacon Rigatoni

Bacon Rigatoni

Artisanal (preservative-free) pasta sauce mixed with rigatoni pasta and strips of farmstyle bacon.




Ingredients to serve 2

  • 200g x rigatoni pasta
  • 125g x homestyle bacon
  • 500ml x artisanal pasta sauce
  • . x olive oil, salt (from your pantry)

Ingredients to serve 4

  • 400g x rigatoni pasta
  • 250g x homestyle bacon
  • 1 litre x artisanal pasta sauce
  • . x olive oil, salt (from your pantry)

Method

Step 1

Bring a large saucepan of lightly salted water to the boil over high heat and add the rigatoni pasta. Return to the boil and cook for 13 minutes. Drain the pasta and return to the saucepan (no heat).

Step 2

Cut the bacon into strips.

Step 3

Place a large frying pan on medium to high heat. When hot, add a splash of olive oil and the bacon and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until lightly browned. Add the pasta sauce to the pan. Once it starts to bubble, turn the heat down to low and cook gently for another 5 minutes.

Step 4

Combine the bacon and pasta sauce with the rigatoni pasta.

Step 5

To serve, divide the pasta between the bowls.
