Method
Before You Begin
Prepare your ingredients & cooking utensils. Use a chopping board and lay all the ingredients out. Take out any "Pantry Items". Preheat your oven to 200°C and bring a medium saucepan of salted water to the boil for use in Step 1.
Washing Instruction
Wash your hands and brush your mushrooms with a soft basting brush - See Gino's Tip.
Gino's Tip
Brushing your mushrooms helps remove any grit and because they are grown in sterilized straw or hay, the process is completely hygienic.
Step 1 - Gnocchi Pasta Shells
Cook your gnocchi pasta shells in a medium saucepan of salted, boiling water for 10-12 minutes until "al dente".
Drain through a colander and set aside till later.
Step 2 - Cordon Bleu Pasta Filling
Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat, add a dash of olive oil and crisp your bacon for 3-4 minutes. Drain on a paper towel when done. Give your frying pan a quick clean and place it back on the stove over medium-high heat. Add a dash or two of olive oil and brown your sliced brown mushrooms for 3-5 minutes. If your pan isn't big enough, do them in batches. Overcrowding will only lengthen the cooking process and result in braised mushrooms.
Now add your diced onions and chopped garlic. Cook until your onions are soft, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 3 - Baking your pasta
Heat your DailyDish Cheese Sauce in a large casserole pan over low-medium heat, with just enough milk to thin the sauce out slightly. Mix in your gnocchi pasta shells, flaked chicken, crisp bacon and your cordon bleu pasta filling. Taste and season with salt and pepper.
Transfer to a baking dish and top with your grated mozzarella and panko crumbs. Bake in the oven for 6-8 minutes until your breadcrumbs are crisp and your sauce is hot.
To Serve
Divide your pasta amongst your servings. Enjoy!
