Method

Before You Begin

Prepare your ingredients & cooking utensils: Use a chopping board and lay all the ingredients out. Take out any “Pantry Items”. Bring a large saucepan of salted water to the boil for use in Step 1.

Washing Instruction

Wash your hands, red cabbage, and spring onion well. Rinse your chives thoroughly and drain on paper towel. Brush your mushrooms with a soft basting brush.

Mariella's Tip

Egg noodles are higher in protein due to the higher egg content, which means they will keep you fuller for longer.

Step 1 - Vermicelli Noodle

Cook your vermicilli noodles in a large saucepan of boiling, salted water for 5-7 minutes. When done, drain through a colander, drizzle with a little olive oil and set aside till later.

Step 2 - Eggs and Stir-Fried Vegetables

Heat a large casserole pan over med-high heat. Once your pan is hot, add a glug of olive oil and lightly scramble your whisked egg. Transfer to a serving dish once done. Give your pan a quick clean and place it back on the stove over high heat. Once your pan is hot, add a glug of olive oil and fry your quartered button mushrooms for 2-3 minutes, now add your sliced onions and continue cooking for 2-3 minutes. Lastly add your julienned carrots, shredded red cabbage, and sliced spring onion and stir fry for 2-3 minutes until your red cabbage is just about tender. Remove your pan from the heat and add your chives, white sesame seeds and vermicelli noodles.

Step 3 - Moo Shu Beef

Heat a large frying pan over med-high heat, once your pan is hot and almost smoking, sear your beef strips for 1-2 minutes on each side attaining a good sear but not cooking them too long so that they become dry. Do your meat in two batches preferably so that you don't overcrowd the pan. Transfer each batch to a serving dish and once all your beef is done, add your DailyDish Moo Shu Sauce to the pan, return your beef and glaze in your sauce for 1-2 minutes. Once done, mix your meat and sauce into your stir fry vegetables along with your scrambled egg.

To Serve

Divide your moo shu beef amongst your servings.
