Mariella's Tips

It's best to slice your apples just as your about to dress your salad in this way you stop the enzymatic browning process.

Step 1 - Mild Chakalaka

Heat a glug of olive oil in a large saucepan and fry your diced onion, crushed garlic, shredded red cabbage, and DailyDish Spice Mix for about 3-4 minutes while stirring frequently or until the onion is soft. Add your water and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 2-3 minutes. Now add your lentils, cherry tomatoes, and swiss chard. Season with salt and pepper and stir to heat through. Remove from the heat once warmed and finish by stirring in your butter.

Step 2 - Plum Pork

Heat a glug of olive oil in a large frying pan over med-high heat and sear your pork sirloin steaks on both sides for about 3 or 4 minutes until well browned. Now add your plum sauce and, as soon as it starts bubbling, remove the pan from the heat and coat your pork in the sauce.

To Serve

Place your mild chakalaka as your base and top with your plum pork.
