Caramelized Onion, Chard and Feta Pizza for 2

The much loved and decadent, add anything, plump chard, caramelised onion and salty feta Pizza recipe that suit all tastes and families - serves 2

Ingredients to serve 2

  • 1 x Feta - gently crumbled
  • 20g x Garlic - crushed
  • ½ x Onion - thinly sliced
  • ½ sachet x Vegetable Stock
  • 150g x Swiss Chard - roughly shredded
  • 1 x Pizza Base
  • 100ml x Pizza Sauce
  • 125g x Mozzarella - grated
  • 10g x Butter (from your pantry)
  • Salt and Pepper (from your pantry)
  • Olive Oil (from your pantry)
  • All Purpose Flour (from your pantry)

  • Swiss Chard - roughly shredded
  • Pizza Base
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Mozzarella - grated
  • Butter (from your pantry)
  • Salt and Pepper (from your pantry)
  • Olive Oil (from your pantry)
  • All Purpose Flour (from your pantry)


Before You Begin

Prepare your ingredients & cooking utensils: Use a chopping board and lay all the ingredients out.Take out any “Pantry Items”. Preheat your oven to 200C.

Washing Instruction

Wash your hands well. Rinse your swiss chard thoroughly and drain on paper towel.

Gino's Tip

I use an egg lifter to scrape all the good bits (fond) from the base of the pan as I'm stirring.

Step 1 - Caramelised Onions and Chard

Heat a large casserole pan over med-high heat, add a glug of olive oil and saute your shredded chard for 2-3 minutes until wilted. Transfer to a colander with a bowl underneath and once cooled slightly squeeze out any excess liquid. Taste and season with salt and pepper once done. Give your large casserole pan a quick wipe with some paper towel and place it back on the stove over med-high heat, add a glug olive oil and your butter and fry your onions for 8-12 minutes stirring regularly until caramelized. If your onions begin to catch on the base of the pan, add a bit of milk to loosen them - See Gino's Tip. Finish your onions by stirring in your vegetable stock.

Step 2 - Assembling your Pizzas

Place your pizza bases on the reverse side of an oven tray. Flouring the tray will stop the bases from sticking to it. Top with your pizza sauce, swiss chard, crushed garlic, caramelized onions, crumbled feta and sprinkle over your grated mozzarella. Place in the middle of your oven to heat through for 2-3 minutes. Proceed to put it closer to your grill element for 3-4 minutes until the cheese is oozy, the filling is hot and the bases are crispy. Please keep an eye on your pizzas when they are closer to the element and move them around regularly to avoid the bases from singeing.

To Serve

Divide your caramelised onion, chard and feta pizzas amongst your servings. Enjoy!
