Creamy Seared Brussels Gnocchi

A decadently warming seared mushroom and roasted brussels gnocchi pasta with our house-made cheese sauce and crispy panko and mozzarella topping.

Ingredients to serve 2

  • 150g x Brussels Sprouts - halved
  • 3 x Baby Onions - halved and peeled
  • 1 clove x Garlic - chopped
  • 150g x Brown Mushrooms - chopped
  • 150g x Gnocchi Pasta Shells
  • 20ml x Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 60g x Grated Mozzarella
  • 5g x Vegetable Spice
  • 60g x Gouda - small dice
  • 150ml x DD Cheese Sauce
  • Milk (from your pantry)
  • Salt and Pepper (from your pantry)
  • Olive Oil (from your pantry)

Ingredients to serve 4

  • 300g x Brussels Sprouts - halved
  • 6 x Baby Onions - halved and peeled
  • 2 cloves x Garlic - chopped
  • 300g x Brown Mushrooms - chopped
  • 300g x Gnocchi Pasta Shells
  • 40ml x Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 120g x Grated Mozzarella
  • 10g x Vegetable Spice
  • 120g x Gouda - small dice
  • 300ml x DD Cheese Sauce
  • Milk (from your pantry)
  • Salt and Pepper (from your pantry)
  • Olive Oil (from your pantry)


Before You Begin

Prepare your ingredients & cooking utensils: Use a chopping board and lay all the ingredients out. Take out any “Pantry Items”. Preheat your oven to 200°C and bring a medium saucepan of salted water to the boil for use in Step 1.

Washing Instruction

Wash your hands and brussels sprouts. Brush your mushrooms with a soft basting brush.

Gino's Tip

Trim the root end of your baby onion slightly beforehand this will make peeling it a bit easier and once roasted it won't fall apart.

Step 1 - Gnocchi Pasta Shells

Cook your gnocchi pasta shells in a medium saucepan of salted, boiling water for 10-12 minutes until "al dente". Drain through a colander and set aside till later.

Step 2 - Baked Pasta Filling

Heat a large frying pan over med-high heat, add a glug of olive oil and fry your halved baby onions and brussels sprouts for 6-8 minutes until lightly browned and just about tender. Now add your chopped brown mushrooms and garlic, cook for 3-4 minutes until cooked through. Taste and season with salt and pepper to your liking. Once your pasta has cooked add it to this mixture and then mix through your diced gouda.

Step 3 - Baking your pasta

Lastly add your DailyDish Cheese Sauce with just enough milk to thin the sauce out slightly, taste and season if need be with salt and pepper. Transfer to a baking dish and top with your grated mozzarella, vegetable spice and panko crumbs. Bake in the oven for 6-8 minutes until your breadcrumbs are crisp and your sauce is hot.

To Serve

Divide your pasta amongst your servings.
