Crunchy Nacho Burger

Local is lekker but Mexican is sometimes better with these nacho-style veggie burgers and green bean healthy fries.

Ingredients to serve 2

  • 2 x Herbivore Burgers
  • 20g x Doritos
  • 100ml x DD Cheese Sauce
  • 40g x Grated Cheddar
  • 150g x Cherry Tomatoes - quartered
  • 1 stalk x Spring Onion - finely sliced
  • 5g x Chives - chopped
  • 2 x Sesame Seed Rolls - halved as per burgers
  • 250g x Green Beans - stem end trimmed
  • 10g x Crushed Garlic
  • 20g x Butter (from your pantry)
  • Salt and Pepper (from your pantry)
  • Olive Oil (from your pantry)

  • 4 x Herbivore Burgers
  • 40g x Doritos
  • 200ml x DD Cheese Sauce
  • 80g x Grated Cheddar
  • 300g x Cherry Tomatoes - quartered
  • 2 stalks x Spring Onion - finely sliced
  • 10g x Chives - chopped
  • 4 x Sesame Seed Rolls - halved as per burgers
  • 500g x Green Beans - stem end trimmed
  • 20g x Crushed Garlic
  • 40g x Butter (from your pantry)
  • Salt and Pepper (from your pantry)
  • Olive Oil (from your pantry)


Before You Begin

Prepare your ingredients & cooking utensils: Use a chopping board and lay all the ingredients out. Take out any “Pantry Items”. Preheat your oven to 200°C and bring a large saucepan of salted water to the boil for use later.

Washing Instruction

Wash your hands, cherry tomatoes, spring onion, and green beans well. Rinse your chives thoroughly and drain on a paper towel.

Gino's Tip

Eventhough its a veggie burger, this doesn't mean less seasoning, season well before it hits the pan to bring out its delicious flavours.

Step 1 - Nacho Burger

Heat a large frying pan over med-high heat, add a drizzling of olive oil, and once your pan is hot fry your burgers for 4 minutes on each side. Once done place them on an oven tray and smother them with cheese sauce and your grated cheddar. Place your halved burger buns on the same tray and pop them into the oven for 2-3 minutes until your sauce is oozy, your cheese has melted and your buns are lightly toasted.

Step 2 - Salsa

Toss your quartered cherry tomatoes, sliced spring onion and chopped chives in a medium mixing bowl with some olive oil, salt and pepper.

Step 3 - Garlic Green Fries

Cook your green beans in your boiling water for 6-8 minutes, drain through a colander, place into a large mixing bowl and toss along with your crushed garlic, butter, salt, and pepper.


Divide your burger roll bottoms as your base, top with your cheesy burger and sauce, your doritos, salsa, and burger roll tops. Serve with your garlic green fries.
